A real insight from GEDCOM analysis

1 min readFamily tree analysis

Yesterday I ran my GEDCOM analysis skill on my own tree. Claude Code flagged one wedding: my great-great-grandparents, Terenty Averin and Darya Sannikova, were married on May 17, 1893.

Screenshot (in Russian): terminal output from the GEDCOM analysis flagging the 17.05.1893 wedding of Terenty Averin and Darya Sannikova, with the note: premarital pregnancy, first child born 64 days later

I look up the birth date of their first child: Simeon, July 20, 1893.

Just 64 days after the wedding. Darya was already pregnant when they married.

Peasants in Vyatka Governorate, in northeastern European Russia, usually lived by church rules, and no one wrote things like this down. But put two dates side by side, and a very human story from more than 130 years ago comes through.

I’d never have spotted that on my own.
